The primary focus of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) is to coordinate a plan to move operating facilities from our Albany, NY location to a designated Alternative Processing Facility in the event of a disaster recovery situation. The BCP includes actions and procedures to recover all critical activities at Pearl Insurance's Albany, NY office.

The BCP will be maintained and updated on a continuing basis, reflecting all organizational and procedural changes that may occur within the operations of the company. Although the BCP provides guidance for disaster recovery efforts, it is not a substitute for sound judgment, nor is it a rigid set of rules to be followed at any cost.

Please note that no coverage will be bound, altered, or cancelled simply by use of this website. Any such request will only be effective once a representative of our firm and/or the insurance company provides confirmation. Similarly, any claims reported by email will only be considered officially reported once you receive written confirmation from either a representative from our firm and/or the insurance company.

Confidentiality for Domestic Violence Victims and Endangered Individuals

New York Insurance Law § 2612 prohibits an insurer from discriminating against an individual who has been a victim of domestic violence. This law states that no insurer, solely because a person is or has been a victim of domestic violence, may:

  • Refuse to issue, renew, deny, or cancel an insurance policy
  • Demand or require a greater premium or payment from any person
  • Designate domestic violence as a preexisting condition, for which coverage will be denied/reduced

This law also contains protections for victims of domestic violence regarding health insurers who receive a valid order of protection against the policyholder. The insurer is prohibited for the duration of the order from disclosing to the policyholder the address and telephone number of the insured, or of any person or entity providing covered services to the insured.

Pearl Insurance respects and understands that your privacy is important, and we are committed to protecting your confidential information. If you are a covered person, the parent or legal guardian of a covered child, or a legal representative of such covered person or child, you have the right to make a reasonable request that you receive communications of claim or other related information from us. You may request to receive this information by alternative means, or at alternative locations, if disclosing the claim or other related information could endanger you or another person within your care.
